Funeral services will be held on Friday, Januat 10:00 a.m. With vigil service beginning at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will be Thursday, Janufrom 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. Her late brother Charles Santos preceded her in death. She is also survived by her sisters, Clara Roggenbuck, Dorothy Denby and Vera Sargent and her brother, Robert Santos. Freitas is survived by her loving son, Ray Freitas and her grand-son, Raymond Freitas, both of San Leandro. Freitas was a homemaker devoted to her family and later in life she generously did volunteer work with the elderly. She was a longtime resident of San Leandro. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Kaiser Hospice at Muir Road, Martinez, CA 94553.Īge 81, died peacefully of heart failure on January 20, 2006. Although he played, coached, watched and studied several sports, basketball to the end was his favorite. At the age of ten during the second world war Bob’s parents and relatives pooled their rationing stamps to keep him in Tennis shoes because he wore them out so fast playing basketball. In his forty years of dedicated service to Alameda Newspaper Group, he never missed a days work and experienced the change from cold type to computer imaging. Bob entered into an apprenticeship in the typographical union and began what became a lifetime career in the newspaper industry. He served his country in the Air Force following the Korean War from 1956 – 1960 and met Sondra while attending college on the GI Bill. Endeared by nieces, Pam, Kim, Cindy, Margie, Betty, Mary, Theresa, Susan, Martha and Becky.īob was born in Cheyenne, Wyoming, moved to California in 1936 and has been a resident of Pleasanton for the last 28 years. Loved by four granddaughters, Brittney and Kristin Smith, Sierra and Alyssa Dwyer. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Sondra Jeanne and his children, Mark John, Denise Lynn and David Allan Dwyer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Irvyn John and Margaret Elizabeth Dwyer and brother, Verne Irvyn. Bob passed away at his home in Pleasanton on January 14, 2006, at the age of 72.
